Woodworking: history and innovation in Venetian craftsmanship
The woodworking shops creating furniture and other wooden objects are mostly concentrated in the
San Polo district. Here the master craftsmen employ techniques that date back
to the Renaissance, using fine woods such as cherry, walnut and oak. Each piece
is unique, handmade with precision and passion, and is often decorated with
complex inlays telling stories of the sea, traditions and ties with the area.
